Mais Energia Project is an initiative launched in 2004 by SHV Gas Brasil, under the brand name Minasgás. This project is aimed at reducing malnutrition by providing nutrition and cooking lessons in poorer communities in Rio de Janeiro. Minasgás provides a ‘traveling kitchen classroom’ which has visited more than 30 communities since the initiative began. Practical information on the best use ways of preparing tasty, healthy food has been passed on to more than 14,000 people. This project has been so successful that five follow-on courses have been organized in the Casadura, Nova Iguaçú and Vidigal communities.
